Long Description

Avery Dennisonβ„’ FL 545 – Single Coated Aluminum Foil Tape

Product Overview:
Avery Dennisonβ„’ FL 545 is a high-performance single coated aluminum foil tape engineered for reliable sealing, joining, and shielding applications across HVAC, electrical, and industrial sectors. This tape features a dead-soft aluminum foil facestock combined with a solvent-based rubber adhesive and an easy-release glassine liner, providing excellent conformability and adhesion to irregular surfaces. Designed for medium temperature applications, FL 545 delivers dependable performance in air conditioning and ventilation systems, heat reflectors, light reflectors, and electromagnetic shielding in appliances and equipment.

Key Features

Dead Soft Aluminum Foil (50 Β΅m): Provides excellent conformability and reflective properties for sealing and shielding.

Solvent Rubber Adhesive: Offers high initial tack and strong adhesion to a variety of substrates.

Easy-Release Glassine Liner: Ensures smooth handling, efficient die-cutting, and easy application.

Fire Classification: Rated B-s1,d0 according to EN 13501-1:2018, confirming low smoke emission and limited flame spread.

Benefits

High Tack and Adhesion: Provides excellent immediate bond strength on metals, glass, plastics, and insulation materials.

Moisture and Plasticizer Resistance: Ensures long-term performance in humid and chemically exposed environments.

Medium Temperature, Solvent, and UV Resistance: Suitable for general-purpose industrial and HVAC applications.

Excellent Reflectivity: Ideal for use in heat and light reflection systems.

Conformable and Flexible: The soft foil adapts easily to irregular surfaces and shapes.

Application Techniques

Surfaces must be clean, dry, and free of grease, oil, or contaminants for maximum performance.

Optimal bond strength is achieved with firm, uniform pressure and adequate dwell time to ensure full adhesive contact.

Variations in pressure, temperature, and surface rigidity can influence adhesion and performance characteristics.

Storage and Shelf Life

Avery Dennisonβ„’ FL 545 maintains its optimal properties for up to two years when stored at 18–22Β°C (64–72Β°F) and 30–70% relative humidity, in its original packaging, protected from direct sunlight.
