Long Description

Avery Dennisonβ„’ FM 7600 is a high-performance, double-coated foam bonding tape engineered for demanding industrial applications requiring immediate adhesion, long-term durability, and high shear resistance. Designed with a cross-linked, closed-cell polyethylene foam carrier, FM 7600 delivers excellent conformability, internal strength, and reliable bonding across a variety of surfacesβ€”including metals, plastics, and painted substrates.

With a specially formulated permanent synthetic rubber adhesive on both sides, this tape is optimized for bonding to low surface energy (LSE) and high surface energy (HSE) materials. It is particularly well-suited for die-cut applications, component mounting, and high-load assemblies in industries such as automotive, electronics, signage, and general industrial manufacturing.

Key Features

Double-coated with synthetic rubber adhesive for high initial tack

Closed-cell polyethylene foam carrier provides excellent internal strength

Offers conformability to uneven surfaces and compensates for substrate irregularities

Comes with a medium-release white glassine liner for smooth processing and easy conversion

Performance Benefits

Immediate adhesion to a wide range of materials including metal, polycarbonate, polypropylene, and painted steel

Foam carrier resists tearingβ€”adhesion strength exceeds internal foam strength on many substrates

Excellent static shear resistance, supporting high-stress applications and long-term holding power

Designed for easy die-cutting and pad conversion, making it ideal for automated manufacturing lines

Clean removal from the release liner at the point of use

Typical Applications

Bonding to plastic trims, metal panels, or painted parts

Mounting of nameplates, signage, or decorative elements

Use in die-cut pads for automotive clips, emblems, and fasteners

Appliance and electronics assembly

Applications requiring high shear strength and load-bearing capacity

Adhesion Performance (ASTM D3330)

180Β° Peel Adhesion, 12” (300 mm/min) at Room Temperature

Stainless Steel (72 hr dwell): Adhesive strength exceeds internal foam strength

Polycarbonate (20 min dwell): Adhesive strength exceeds internal foam strength

Painted Steel (20–24 hr dwell): Adhesive strength exceeds internal foam strength

Polypropylene (72 hr dwell): Adhesive strength exceeds internal foam strength

Note: In all above cases, substrate adhesion surpasses the cohesive strength of the foam, indicating failure within the foam layer rather than at the bond interface.
