Long Description

Avery Dennisonβ„’ FT 8331 is a 3.6 mil double-coated polyester tape engineered for applications requiring temporary repositionability on one side and permanent bonding performance on the other. This product features a dual rubber adhesive system designed to deliver reliable foam bonding performance while allowing for controlled removability during application setup or alignment.

This construction is ideal for general industrial, automotive, and foam bonding applications where initial repositionability is needed without compromising the final bond strength. FT 8331 is not recommended for use on substrates with low internal strength, such as paper or wallboard, due to the adhesive's high tack and strength.

Key Features

Specially Designed Dual Adhesive System
Repositionable adhesive on the liner side and a permanent, aggressive rubber adhesive on the unwind side.

Polyester (PET) Film Carrier
Provides excellent dimensional stability and supports clean die-cutting and slitting operations.

Repositionable Rubber Adhesive
Allows for temporary bonding, realignment, or positioning during assembly.

Permanent Rubber Adhesive
Offers strong, long-term bonding especially on foams and a variety of other substrates.

Densified Kraft (Neutral Deerback) Liner
Enhances converting performance and adhesive handling.

Benefits

Excellent Foam Bonding Characteristics
Ensures strong adhesion to foams used in automotive, HVAC, appliance, and general assembly applications.

Repositionability Without Compromising Bond
Allows for part adjustment during installation while ensuring secure permanent adhesion afterward.

Converting Friendly
High-quality polyester carrier and liner make it ideal for precision die-cutting and slitting, minimizing waste and improving productivity.

Reliable Performance Across Surfaces
Bonds well to metals, plastics, painted surfaces, and medium to high surface energy substrates.
