Long Description

Avery Dennisonβ„’ FT B2100 is a high-performance double-coated polyester tape designed for demanding industrial bonding applications where high tack, strong peel adhesion, excellent shear resistance, and extreme temperature performance are required. This product is part of Avery Dennison’s broader range of assembly systems, built on thin carriers such as paper, non-woven, or film, uniformly coated on both sides with pressure-sensitive adhesive formulations. FT B2100 specifically utilizes a pure solvent-based acrylic adhesive on both sides of a transparent PET film, offering superior bonding characteristics, durability, and chemical resistance.

Key Features

High Tack, High Adhesion: Ensures a quick, aggressive bond to a wide variety of substrates, including metals, plastics, and composite materials.

Very High Shear Resistance: Maintains structural integrity under stress, even at elevated temperatures or during prolonged exposure.

High Temperature Resistance: Serviceable up to 356 Β°F (180 Β°C) with short-term resistance up to 392 Β°F (200 Β°C) β€” ideal for applications exposed to heat during manufacturing or end use.

Durable PET Carrier: A 12-micron transparent polyester film provides dimensional stability and strength without bulk.

PE-Coated Kraft Liner: The easy-release white kraft liner is polyethylene-coated on both sides, offering superior handling, converting, and moisture resistance.

Benefits

Solvent Acrylic Adhesive System: Delivers excellent long-term performance, including resistance to plasticizer migration, UV light, aging, and environmental exposure.

Clean Application and Converting: Thin, consistent adhesive layer and easy-release liner allow for precise die-cutting, laminating, and clean application without adhesive bleed.

Versatile Bonding Capabilities: Performs well on high surface energy (HSE) materials such as stainless steel, as well as many low surface energy (LSE) plastics when surface-prepped appropriately.

General-Purpose Industrial Use: Suitable for bonding flexible and rigid materials in signage, electronics, automotive interiors, appliances, construction, and more.

Typical Applications

Application Guidelines

Surfaces must be clean, dry, and free of dust, oil, or other contaminants to achieve optimal bond strength.

The bond performance is influenced by application pressure, dwell time, and substrate type.

Different materials (rigid vs. flexible, low vs. high surface energy) may require surface preparation for best results.

Storage & Shelf Life

Shelf Life: Up to 2 years when stored at 64–72 Β°F (18–22 Β°C) and 30–70% relative humidity, in original packaging and out of direct sunlight.
