Long Description
Avery Dennisonβ’ UHAβ’ 8709 β High-Performance Double-Coated Automotive Carpet Tape
Avery Dennisonβ’ UHAβ’ 8709 is a high-performance double-coated pressure-sensitive adhesive tape engineered specifically for bonding automotive trim carpeting and interior materials. Utilizing patented crosslinked elastomer adhesive technology on both sides, this construction ensures strong, consistent lamination performance even on coarse, tufted, or uneven carpet backings. The non-woven carrier provides excellent dimensional stability, flexibility, and superior conformability during lamination and application.
Designed to deliver high initial tack, excellent quick stick, and reliable adhesion to a wide range of low surface energy (LSE) substrates, including polypropylene (PP), thermoplastic polyolefin (TPO), and polyethylene (PE), UHAβ’ 8709 performs exceptionally well in automotive interior environments. It also offers robust temperature resistance, maintaining bond integrity under both continuous and intermittent heat exposure conditions.
Key Features
Patented adhesive technology on both sides of the tape for balanced performance and durability.
Crosslinked elastomer adhesive with firm, high tack for reliable adhesion to challenging automotive materials.
Non-woven carrier for improved handling, dimensional stability, and smooth lamination.
Densified kraft release liner (80# White Kraft) for consistent release and easy processing.
Double-coated construction provides excellent contact on uneven or textured carpet surfaces.
Benefits
Superior quick stick and adhesion to low surface energy plastics such as PP, TPO, HDPE, and LDPE.
High temperature resistance β suitable for both continuous (225Β°F / 107Β°C) and intermittent (275Β°F / 135Β°C) exposure.
Excellent lamination consistency, even on rough or tufted carpet backings.
Outstanding shear performance, ensuring long-term bond stability in demanding automotive environments.
Enhanced convertibility β easy to die-cut and handle in automated assembly processes.
Durable, flexible performance, minimizing lift or edge failure during service life.
